Well, I'm still tired and somewhat numb, but coming around--not unlike many of you I'm sure.
First, I am so sad about Felicia and Coral. But I want to say it was a joy and a great opportunity to work for fantastic qualified female candidates! I would do it again in a heartbeat. I also feel today for our LD8
candidates, Barbara McGuire and Sharon Girard.Second, it looks like Mark Kelly is in and Arizona has been called for Biden (or not, depending on the network). Anna Tovar adds one more Democratic voice to the Arizona Corporation Commission and our LD7 Dem incumbents were reelected. By being present and visible in these Republican netherlands, and through all of the work we did, we have contributed to these outcomes. I would like to name every volunteer here, but it's impossible.
Third, I want to thank everyone who ran, including our brave Gila County candidates, Debi Savage, Bernie Kniffin, Fred Barcon and Chris Bender, and our Congressional candidate Delina DiSanto.
Finally, I want to acknowledge my Gila County Exec team for their work and support, especially over the last several months: Bill Leister, Lenny Leverance and Bettie Julkes; and the partnerships we built on with the Cobre Valley Dems, and Dems of Rim Country and Diane Green, to work together for our candidates.
We all need a rest and some playtime, but then there will be the races in 2022, and with AZ so clearly purple, there will be a role for Dems in Gila County. The foundation we've all built here is tremendous. Let's continue to grow it.
Faith is taking the first step even when you can't see the whole staircase.
