PAYSON UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 10

The Governing Board of the District has called a special budget override election to be held on November 7, 2023, to request voter authorization to exceed the Maintenance and Operation Budget Limit by 10% of the revenue control limit to fund existing programs, such as budget override to be in effect for a period of seven (7) years. The override authorized by
this election shall be funded by a levy of taxes on the taxable property within the District. The proposed override is a continuation of the existing 10% override.  (This is NOT a tax increase)

Congressman Ruben Gallego Meet 'n Greet 09-16-23

 Congressman Gallego has rescheduled, and will be in Payson at Dems HQ on Saturday, September 16.  He'll be here from 11:30 to 12:30, and he's bringing pizza!  Come meet the candidate for US Senate. Q&Q, Photos and pizza!

Ruben Gallego for US Senate - Meet 'n Greet - POSTPONED

Congressman Ruben Gallego will be making his first campaign stop in Gila County on Saturday, September 9, at our Payson Democratic HQ. He's coming from the Navajo Nation, and is expected between 5:00 and 5:30.  He's expected to take questions and stop for photos, and will leave at 6:30.  

Labor Day Event

 Beautiful day in Miami yesterday!  Gila County Democrats hosted a Labor Day Pancake Breakfast and Grilled Hot Dog Lunch  at the Miami Veterans Park.   Good  food, decorations, and conversations. Democrat banners everywhere! We signed up another PC, registered a voter, got a new donor, added names to our mailing list. And, people stayed for several hours!  Fun day! Congratulations to our Globe area PCs and the Cobre Valley Dems. Photos attached.

2023 Rodeo Parade

 Gila County Dems at the Payson Rodeo Parade on 8/19/23.  The beautiful car belongs to Democrats Jamie and Tina Rarzken.  Great time!  We received a lot of support from the bystanders.

Earth Day

PROTEST to PROTECT REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM

On Saturday, April 15 at the corner of Ash and Hill Streets( Highway 60 Overpass) women and our friends will gather and stand in protest to protect reproductive freedom from

11:00 - 12:00 pm in Globe, Arizona. 

 This past Friday, a Federal judge in Texas issued a ruling that will deny people NATIONWIDE access to the drug mifepristone, a medication that is one of the drugs in a medication abortion. This drug has been used safely for 23 years and has gone thru 101 clinical studies that has proven it a safe and effective. Banning it will deny healthcare access to all pregnant people Nationwide. This ruling will ban this drug from being used EVEN IN STATES WHERE ABORTION IS LEGAL so it has far- reaching effects. We are united in our commitment to freedom and dignity for all Americans, especially the right for every person to make their own healthcare choices for their own body. 

This action Saturday is a protest to this ruling, but hopefully will provide an opportunity to educate our community regarding the need to protect reproductive freedom. We welcome our community to join us to ensure all people have the healthcare they need! Please join us this Saturday as we Speak out in Protest.
