PAYSON UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 10
The Governing Board of the District has called a special budget override election to be held on November 7, 2023, to request voter authorization to exceed the Maintenance and Operation Budget Limit by 10% of the revenue control limit to fund existing programs, such as budget override to be in effect for a period of seven (7) years. The override authorized by
this election shall be funded by a levy of taxes on the taxable property within the District. The proposed override is a continuation of the existing 10% override. (This is NOT a tax increase)
If the override is not approved, the existing 10% override will phase out by reducing by one-third in 2025/2026 and another one-third in the fiscal year 2026/2027.
This override supports the District’s efforts to help maintain present levels of service:
Attract and retain quality teaching staff
Continue to keep class sizes within approved class size ranges
Continue to provide advanced course/dual enrollment course opportunities for high school students
Maintain technology programs and positions
Continue to provide music programs and positions
Maintain physical education programs and positions
MIAMI UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 40
This special election will be held to obtain voter approval to adopt a Maintenance and Operation Budget for the 2023-2028 school year that continues the existing override authorization and exceeds the budget limit specified by statute by fifteen percent (15%). Voters will be asked to vote “YES” or “NO” on the question.
