August Jobs Report

 

• Despite the ongoing impact of the Delta variant on the economy, the August jobs report shows economic recovery that is durable and strong.
   
• The unemployment rate decreased this month to the lowest rate since before the pandemic.
   
• The economy gained an average of 750,000 jobs a month over the last three months.
   
• The economy has created more jobs in the first seven months of the Biden administration than any administration in history.
   
• As President Biden said, there is no question that the Delta variant is why today’s job report isn’t stronger. This continues to be a pandemic of the unvaccinated. We call on all Americans to get vaccinated to help combat Covid and help grow our economy. 
   
• We join President Biden in calling on Congress to pass his economic agenda and Build Back Better agenda for long-term prosperity for Americans.
